Hair Q&A: Senegalese Twist vs. Kinky Twist
Q: What's the difference between Kinky Twist & Senegalese Twists?
A: For the most part Kinky Twist & Senegalese Twist are the same thing. Senegalese Twist are usually done with a straighter braid hair than that of the Kinky Twist & are often smaller. The twists are more silky-looking and are usually worn long. Kinky twist are done with kinky braid hair and are usually larger in size than Senegalese. They are also set on perm rods and dipped in hot water to get the curly look on the ends. The Senegalese Twists can be left loose on the ends or burned to a point. Both are really pretty and it really just depends on what you're going for.

I like the Senegalese braids as well, but are they always that thick?
ReplyDeleteNo you can get them thin
Deletewhich is the kinky & which is the senegalease ?
ReplyDeletethe first one is kinky the other is senegalease
DeleteKinky twist are on the left.
ReplyDeleteSenegalease are on the right.
What kind of hair is used for senegalease?
ReplyDeleteThey use synthetic hair for Senegalese twists.
ReplyDeleteHi
DeleteI know that they use synthetic hair for the senegalese, but do you know what kind was used for yours? It looks more natural and it does not look like they used Kanekalon synthetic hair.
ReplyDeleteI just got mine done didn't keep the packaging its the cheap $1.99 hair but it's 100% annafree or something similar DON'T buy the kankelon hair that's for normal back in the day regular braids
DeleteMy bad the name is freetress AFRELLE BLEND
DeleteYou said that you used Freetress Afrelle Blend but I'm not having any luck finding that product online...
DeleteWhat I find is a product with a similar name but is actually kankelon fiber. Are you sure that is the name of the product? I looooove your braids... im taking your picture to the shop for them to do mine like yours.
THANK U FOR THIS! I wanted this texture(for Senegalese twist) and women insisted upon the expressions or the kankelon hair. a lot of women are uneducated with TYPES of hair.
ReplyDeleteSo for the same exact texture as the the girl with the senagalese twists the brand is called freetress afrelle brand (is that u in the pic bc I'm trying to achieve the same exact texture) and does it come on different lengths. how did u get it to be long
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the lady with the Senegalese twists is FusionofCultures from youtube. She says in her video that she uses Xpression hair.
DeleteWhat if you have medium length hair which should I get.or is it better just to do box braids
ReplyDeleteCan u wash ur hair with micro twist because I have had these Sene twist for a month and my hair smell
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't recommend washing your hair with micro twist in as it can loosen the braids. What I would recommend is trying a dry shampoo.
