After going through an unintentional Big Chop back in April -- the founder of Party Over Hair, Elle Providence, was really clueless on how to maintain her natural hair. In fact, she was totally against going natural; always looked at it as being too much work or maintenance. She wasn't a slave to the creamy crack as much as she was a slave to the Yaki. But after a heated struggle with weaves & permed hair tangled with Natural Hair, she surely lost that battle forcing a haircut, leaving her with about 2 inches of Natural Hair. Her best friend, whose been Natural for over 2 years sent her an email full of links to natural hair videos, blogs, articles, etc. that helped her adjust to living the natural life. It wasn't until she cut her hair off that a lot of her other friends begin to follow suite & this one email that Elle's best friend sent her would be forwarded all over to newbies of the natural hair. Elle figured there were still plenty of girls out there not sure of how to deal with their natural hair.
The name Party Over Hair was thought up by Elle's clever boyfriend whom at the time came up with it as a joke. Little did he know, the name was absolutely genius. In July of 2011, Elle began searching all over the Internet for some of the best articles she could find pertaining to Natural Hair to share with girls in similar, confused states as she once was. Party Over Hair is updated at least twice a day with not only some of the best hair articles around the Internet, but it's also filled with Elle's personal rants & raves while being Natural, as well as plenty of great articles from our Guest Bloggers.
